As quick as it came, it was gone again. Summer went by very quickly for me this year. Two “Hood” trips, Whistler, Fernie and now Chile has made for the busiest summer of my life but also one of the most rewarding and fun. I am very excited about all the progress I made this summer on the snow and in the weight room. I believe that I, and the rest of my team, are set up for what could be our most successful ski season yet!
I spent most of the summer with the team in Whistler, Fernie and Hood; skiing, working out and goofing around. We have a great team dynamic, push each other every training day, and get along pretty well. The team is a little different this year in that the mens and womens teams are now combined. Its been a smooth transition and cool to see the girls ski and push each other as well as feed off of us.
The team is now in Chile and we have great training conditions along with great opportunities to train alongside the worlds best GS skier, Ted Ligety and some other members of the US ski team. We’ve had six days on snow and another eight to go so I am expecting that we will all have made some major progress in our skiing by the time this camp is complete.
All in all I had a great summer and got to do lots of biking and climbing alongside my training regime. I can’t wait to see what the season holds but for now I will keep my focus on making changes in my skiing and my fitness during these final weeks of preparation before the snow flies in the Northern Hemisphere.
All for now,
